U.S. Academic Equivalence


Finish your academic program at UTEL, graduate and receive your Academic Degree or Degree with Official Program Accreditation from the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) and complete the academic equivalency in the U.S., without leaving your country.

 

As a result of an evaluation carried out by the U.S credential evaluation agency Josef Silny & Associates, a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), receiving an institutional report that allowed the university to match the degrees and academic offer to those of an accredited U.S. university.

Receiving this certification shows that we meet the 10 quality standards as our U.S. counterparts, among which are the trajectory, academic level, legality of the programs, administrative quality, organizational structure, resources and services, as well as international presence.

 

Carrying out this procedure allows our students to validate their studies in the U.S., enjoying the same benefits and legal conditions as a Bachelor, Master or Doctor graduate, such as:

  • Work in the vocational training area.

All of our academic programs certified with their corresponding OPA by the SEP have this academic equivalency option.

 

The process is carried out by the university, it can only be started once the graduate receives the official degree (OPA) and completes the following steps:

 

  1. Fill out the Application for Recognition of UTEL degree in the U.S.
  2. Pay the corresponding fee of the service, which includes:
    • UTEL degree Hague Apostille.
    • Sending documents to the U.S.
    • Official translation of the UTEL degree (in the U.S.)
    • Evaluation procedure by the accreditation agency (in the U.S.), resulting in the academic degree equivalence report.
    • Legalization before a Notary.
    • Hague Apostille Convention for the equivalence report (issued in the U.S.)
    • Sending documents to UTEL.

Do I have to go to the United States to process my academic equivalency?

No, this is a service offered by the university.

Do I need to prove my english proficiency? | Do I need to attend an exchange program?

No. You will only have to successfully accredit your academic program and receive your UTEL degree, which will be translated by an official interpreter in the United States, as part of the academic equivalency process.

Will I have to take additional courses??

No, the number of credits will be the same and it is not necessary to take additional courses.

What US institutions accept the equivalence report?

The Equivalence Reports of our graduates may be received in federal departments, the Armed Forces, commissions licensors, education departments and other government agencies in the United States.
